Midi Rings a.k.a Above knuckle rings!

Hello chic@s,

I hope everyone is well!

I finally made my last leg of the journey to make it back to Cornwall on Friday and awaiting my arrival was a small package. I had completely forgot that I had ordered a couple of midi rings from an awesome website I found via Instagram, so it was a lovely suprise to open them up.

Midi or above knuckle rings have recently been trending in the fashion world and have been spotted on many celebrities and fashionistas. This trend is an affordable and and quirky trend to try out.

I recently discovered a very cute website selling very affordable midi rings at BlazinnBlaisain where there are a variety of cute midi and normal rings to choose from. I picked up two stackable gold rings, one gold infinity ring and one rose gold heart ring.

I prefer above knuckle rings as I find them very comfortable to wear and I think they make your hands look very feminine as they accentuate and thin down the fingers.

Will you be trying the midi ring trend?

Let me know,

Lots of Love,

OPI Nail Polish Review- Yodel Me On My Cell

Hello lovelies!

I am back with a quick review of an OPI nail polish that I have been loving recently! It's the OPI polish in Yodel Me On My Cell and it's from the Swiss Collection 2010. It's a beautiful turquoise blue/green colour that reminds me of the sea. It is very opaque and only requires 2 coats to give a great pay off.

It has a high shine and I think for my particular skin tone it is a great shade for the up coming summer days even though it is on the darker side. It contains micro-glitters that when you catch them in the sun light look absolutely radiant.

What are you favourite OPI colours?
I am in love with nail polishes so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

As always,

Lots of Love,

I'm back with a review of the Lancome Hypnose Eyes Travel Palette!

Hola a tod@s!

So firstly I need to apologise profusely for my extreme lack of posting on this blog. I have now just moved back from Argentina, but I had an incredible experience and I was constantly on the go when living out there! Maybe I'll post a few pics from my time out there at the end of the week. Unfortunately fashion is just too expensive to keep up with in Buenos Aires which I found frustrating and disappointing, but that's not to say you only go to Buenos Aires to experience the fashion!

Anyway, on my way back home, I obviously stopped at duty free at Ezeiza airport and decided I would cheer myself up because I was so sad about leaving Argentina, and luckily I found just the thing:

Hypnose Eyes Travel Kit by Lancome.

I LOVE Lancôme packaging! I think it is so smart and chic and I adore the little bag cover that comes with this set as I think it will look so awesome when I pull it out of my handbag to touch up my make-up.

Inside the palette are an assortment of neutral shimmery and matte shades, perfect for creating a multitude of day and night time looks. The central three colours are the matte shadows which are great for highlighting, lining and darkening the eye to give a great smokey effect. Here is the swatch of the three:

On the outside edges lie the beautiful shimmery evening and day time colours that fit perfectly together. On the left side are a trio of cool toned shimmers that would give your eyes that sultry sparkle.

And on the right hand side of the palette are a trio of warm toned colours, when put together create a wonderful doll eyed, fresh looking effect- great for a daytime look!

The colours are quite pigmented as this is only one layer of application, so by adding more layers the colours would become much bolder, making it easy for you to determine the intensity of your eye shadow and giving you more control. Fall out is also very minimal but the glitter does get everywhere, make sure to have a make up wipe at hand to wipe away any excess fall out!
The price was $48 USD but I paid with the rest of my Argentine Pesos that I had left over.

I hope you enjoyed this little review, and I promise, now that I am finally back in England after a crazy year of moving from Paris to Buenos Aires and back to the UK again, I will be staying put for a little while.... only because I have to to finish my degree; which means more regular posts coming your way!

Lots of love as always,

Connie

NEW SERIES: Power Foods... EGGS

Hola todos, hope everyone is well.

I have decided to write a series about foods that we should eat more of in order to help promote healthy skin, hair and general well being. Many people have been asking me (mainly when I go shopping I get stopped by people) about my skin and how I keep it clear. My skin is not perfect, it is oily-combination, with my nose being the first part of my face to get oily, but I try to look after it as much as I can. Obviously I love my DIY face masks and scrubs but it isn't just what you put on your skin that keeps it looking radiant, it's what you eat that has more of the long term effect! I also never wear foundation, it just isn't suitable for young skin. It blocks pores and is more hassle than it is worth. IF YOU DON'T NEED IT, DON'T WEAR IT! I do use concealer but I have natural darkness under my eyes that no amount of sleep, water or almond oil will ever get rid of... thanks to my Indian heritage... But I'm not complaining!

So, my first power food that I want to introduce are... EGGS!

Whether you like them scrambled, poached, boiled or sunny-side up, there is more to your simple egg than just keeping you fuller for longer. Two main skin-loving ingredients reside in eggs. Choline and Lutein.  Choline is a member of the B-Vitamin family and helps to promote healthy skin function and helps the body maintain good levels of Vitamin B. Vitamin B is important for the body as it is responsible for the production of collagen and elastin- these are what keep the skin supple, smooth and firm. Lutein is responsible for keeping skins elasticity and it is also a great antioxident for beating free radicals from damaging skin cells.

I hope you will enjoy my series, I will be posting every Tuesday with a new super food that your skin will benefit from!

Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Lots of Love,

The truth about TOMATOES!

Hola Chic@s!

I hope you are all doing great.

I want to write a post today about the cosmetic benefits of Tomatoes. Now most people would look at tomatoes and not think about the endless list of beauty benefits this powerful little fruit has to offer! Whether it's to help soothe sunburn, reduce the size of pores, or get back glowing skin, tomatoes are incredibly beneficial in home made remedies.

THE INFO
Tomatoes naturally contain a substance called lycopene. This is an antioxidant which helps to keep the skin healthy and work as sunscreen from the inside. You do need to still wear a sun screen, however, but tomatoes help to provide extra protection against those damaging rays! The lycopene works as an anti-ageing agent and can prevent the reddening of the skin.

ACNE AND OILY SKIN REMEDY
If you are a sufferer of acne and have tried endless acne treatments, try giving tomatoes a go. Most acne treatments are full of Vitamin A and Vitamin C, tomatoes are naturally rich in both of these properties, including Vitamin K. A great acne treatment is to cut a tomato in half and apply the inside half to your face, working in gentle circular motions.
You can also do this treatment to help with oily skin. Again cut a tomato in half and place the inside half face down in sugar. Coat the entire side and then apply in a (very) gentle circular motion to your face. The sugar will buff excess sebum from your skin (this is the stuff that is responsible for keeping your skin and hair hydrated, but sometimes your skin can produce too much which causes an oily build up!). And then wash it off and moisturise as normal. Your skin should be left feeling fresh and smooth.

SUNBURN REMEDY
Tomatoes are a saviour for those with sunburn. Here in Buenos Aires, we are experiencing a wonderfully hot summer but I can't help but notice how many people suffer from sun burn because of the extreme heat. Luckily for me, I have a high amount of melanin in my skin which helps protect me from burning and darkens my natural tan. However, if you do suffer from sub=n burn, then a tomato could be your saviour! Just crush half a tomato and add a few spoons of plain, natural yoghurt. Mix this together and apply wherever your skin has burned. The tomato neutralises the surface of the skin and cools the burning sensation, whilst the yoghurt rehydrates  the skin and help prevent pealing!

And remember to try and eat tomatoes as often as you can!

Let me know if you give anything a try and I'll be back soon with another post.

Lots of love,

P.S. Sorry for a no picture post, I ate the last of my tomatoes today!

Refreshing tired eyes!

Hola Chic@s!

I am so sorry I have not been posting here is such a long, long time! I was very busy during my time in Paris that when I got home to Cornwall I just switched everything off and relaxed! Now I am in Buenos Aires, Argentina! It's the height of the summer here and I love it. It does tend to get very hot though, which can make sleeping through the night pretty  hard, and I always find myself waking up early, even if I've only had a few hour sleep. So here's a tip to get those tried looking eyes feeling awake a fresh:

Take a spoon and place it in the freezer (but only for a few minutes!).
Test the temperature on the back of your hand to make sure it isn't too cold and then apply the spoon to your eye.
Simple as that!
The coolness of the spoon will help de-puff the eye area and make you feel more awake, as if you've just taken an ice shower. This is something you can try in the morning whilst you're making your breakfast, just pop the spoon in the freezer and when you've finished your tea/coffee hold it to your eye!

Give it  a try and let me know how it goes!

I will make more of an effort to keep this blog up-to-date with useful tips and tricks to keep you all entertained.

Lots of Love,
